Q: Why can’t regular plastic bags be used?

A: Due to the material density, regular plastic bags are usually made of PE material. Even after vacuuming and sealing, air can seep back into the bag. After leaving it for some time, the vacuum effect will disappear.

 

Q: What types of bags are suitable for vacuum sealers?

A: The most common materials for vacuum packaging bags are nylon (NY) bags and aluminum foil bags. Both materials effectively prevent air from re-entering the vacuum-sealed bag, maintaining the vacuum state inside.

 

Q: Why can’t regular flat vacuum bags be used?

A: This type of vacuum sealer requires textured vacuum bags to create air channels during the vacuuming process. These channels allow air to be extracted, creating a vacuum inside the bag. Flat bags do not have this structure and cannot facilitate air removal.

 

Q: Can moist food be vacuum-sealed?

A: This vacuum sealer supports only dry goods or slightly moist items. It is not suitable for liquids or powdery items. For items with moisture, freezing them before vacuuming is recommended for better results.

The short answer is yes, sometimes, but with a big safety caveat.   When to Reuse: If the bag contained clean, low-odor, cooked, or dry foods (like baked goods, nuts, or leftover pasta), you can often wash, dry, and reuse the bag.
